| Lingcove Bridge |

| The gentle ascent of Eskdale ends where a narrow pack horse bridge crosses Lingcove Beck. If you don't cross the bridge the path leads steeply up to Three Tarns. Over the bridge is the only real climb of the walk, up alongside the Esk gorge to Throstlegarth. This is a splendid place to take a short break. |
