| My favourite way up to the Catbells ridge is from Little Town in Newlands to Hause Gate, the col between Catbells and Maiden Moor. It is much quieter than the popular path up from Hawes End, which more than compensates for missing the summit of Catbells. The walk over Maiden Moor and High Spy, and back down Newlands makes a splendid half-day outing. |
