| To travellers on the A591 between Dunmail Raise and Grasmere, Helm Crag adopts a vaiety of disguises. The most familiar of these is 'The Lion and The Lamb'. Even people who have never seen it before point it out to each other. The ascent of Helm Crag from Grasmere is surprisingly easy (apart from the final few feet!), thanks to a well planned path which loops round above the old quarries. |
