I now have room on my site to load a few larger pictures at high quality. I will attempt to change them at regular intervals, and if you have any requests please me.
The pictures are 1600x1200 JPEGs, compressed to 70% quality with XAT Image Optimiser and with extra colour added. If you have a JavaScript enabled browser they will be displayed to fit your screen resolution, but please note this doesn't change the size of the file. If you need the images at a different size, please ask, but see below for wallpaper. Also bear in mind that I am unable to go much over 1600x1200 with scanned 35mm negatives, as the grain in the film starts to show. The jagged appearance of boundaries in some of the photos is a result of down-scaling by the browser, and shouldn;t occur in the full-size image.
Click on the thumbnail to display the full-size picture in a new kiosk-mode¶ window, and then right-click on it and select "SAVE AS" or "SET AS WALLPAPER".
Click on Close to close the window.
Kiosk Mode uses the maximum possible desktop area, without toolbars or status bar (and with MSIE no re-size and close icons).
If you want to use the picture as wallpaper, Windows will have an option somewhere in the display properties which is called something like Stretch to fit; it also reduces large images to fit the screen.

First of all, a few pictures from our Autumn 1988 trip, which was probably our best ever weather-wise.

And then some from the other end of the era - a selection from our October 2003 trip, taken with my new Canon Powershot G5. I was still getting the hang of it!
