| Connie's was a basement club which catered for the out of town whites coming into Harlem for entertainment. It was a frequent hang out for gangsters, although was instrumental in furthering the careers of Billy Holiday, Fat's Walla and Louis Armstrong who performed there regularly. |

| It was basically situated near the Lafayette Theatre on the opposite corner of 131st street and Seventh Avenue. Connie's Inn was another well known club which opened in 1929 and was in direct competition with the Cotton Club. |
