Alex Jakeman

Alex Jakeman has a remarkable talent which is not only clear in her orchestral playing with the NSO and as principal flute in the National Youth Orchestra, but also in her recitals and solo appearances. She attended the prestigious Chetham's School of Music for four years from the age of eleven before continuing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music. In September she is returning to the sixth-form at Chetham's. Alex was "Flautist of the Year" for the British Flute Society last year and she has performed at major venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Birmingham Symphony Hall. Her lovely personality and enormous talent promise an exciting future which will be followed with interest.
