Lora Dimitrova was born in Sofia, starting her studies aged seven. From 1981 to 1987 she attended the Bulgarian State Conservatory where she was awarded the Premier Prix. In 1989 she won a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music, winning further awards and prizes. Lora has performed at the Barbican with the RPO, the Royal Festival Hall with the London Concert Orchestra and at Festivals in Salzburg and Dresden with the LSO under Sir Georg Solti who was impressed enough to sponsor a recital at the Wigmore Hall. She has recorded music by Bach, Bartók, Schumann and has recently returned from a successful tour of Bulgaria hailed as the greatest pianist to have sprung from Bulgarian soil!
