The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra rehearses, under conductor James Stobart, in Downham Market on Friday evenings and presents a Sunday Symphony Series at the Corn Exchange in King's Lynn. Players travel regularly from Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire as well as most parts of Norfolk. Soloists are top-class young professionals, and the orchestra is led by Jane Foottit, formerly of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The membership of the NSO includes all age ranges, with many young adults, and everyone plays in an amateur capacity.

The Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is a registered charity, No. 263422
