'Springfield
House' has been our home for some years, we love it and the wonderful
Wiltshire countryside all around us. We are situated in the Wylye
Valley and on the edge of Lord Bath's stately home of Longleat.
The famous and interesting historic cities of Salisbury, Bath, and
Wells are all easily reached , as are the mystical and ancient 'henge's
of Stonehenge and Avebury. Driving to these and so many other places
of interest can take you through some spectacular and varied countryside,
over the expanses of the Salisbury Plain, through thatched cottage
villages, and farmland.
The main part of the house
dates back to the 17th century, with original beams, an inglenook
fireplace, some low ceilings and doorways and a 1 acre south facing
garden.
Guests have the choice of double or twin rooms with en-suite and
private bathroom facilities, a dining room and a comfortable sitting
room with an old open fire place. All rooms have woodland views
and look over the garden which has a tennis lawn that can be used
during good weather in the summer months.
