STRATTON
  1. 1851 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
  2. IGI
  3. 1861 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
  4. 1861 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire - Oliver is next door to his parents. He is married with two children, Louisa O, aged 1 and Charles H aged 3 months. Next door to him is a Samuel ANGOOD, who I have not got above but who is also possibly part of this family. He is 37, so would have been born about 1824. There is a convenient gap between Joseph and Hannah. I have found a Samuel ANGOOD on the IGI who fits and ties in with the baptism's of Joseph and Hannah and has a mother named Mary and a father named Samuel so I have added Samuel to the Chart. There is also a Ebenezer ANGOOD who was born in Chatteris in 1822 who on the 1861 has a son Jabez, so again I would think it is likely that he is another son, but I cannot find him on the IGI so at the present have no other way of connecting him to this family.  I believe he must be one of the family as the children, except for Oliver, all have biblical names, so have added him and his family to this Chart.
  5. 1861 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire (see note 4)
  6. 1861 Census - Wimblington, Cambridgeshire.
  7. 1871 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Just to show how far out the indexing is on Ancestry.com I searched for Hepsibah ANGOOD as I have found her marriage in 1876, so assumed she would still have her maiden name in 1871. I luckily searched just for Hep* born Chatteris. This is what I got on Ancestry.com - Hepziaboh Engard and it is the right family, it definitely reads ANGOOD.
  8. 1881 Census - Bridge Street, Chatteris Cambridgeshire. Although they married in 1876, William is 68 on the 1881 Census and Hepsibah is 52. Mary ANGOOD, mother-in-law is with them, she is aged 87 and is a widow, born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
  9. 1851 Census - New Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire (not 100 per cent sure that Ebenezer is one of his family but see Note 4)
  10. NOT USED
  11. 1861 Census - New Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
  12. 1871 Census - New Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire,
  13. 1881 Census - New Street, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.  On the same page of the census is Jabez, wife and family, and Frederick with a wife and large family.  Both Jabez and Frederick are sons of Ebenezer.
  14. NOT USED
  15. Age 21 daughter of John GIMBERT, Labourer
  16. 1851 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. With this family was a John H BROWN, age 17 a Cordwainers Apprentice, born Huntingdonshire and a Margaret A WHALEY age 12 a niece, born Wisbeach, Cambridgeshire
  17. NOT USED
  18. Bridge Street, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
  19. 1841 Census - Slade End, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire
  20. 1861 Census - Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Children Mary E Scholar aged 8, William, Scholar, aged 7 and Eliza A aged 1 all born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
  21. 1861 Census - New Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.  Children Frederick 17 Apprentice Watchmaker, Arthur 6 Scholar and Harry 2 Scholar all born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Living next door to Jemima's brother Ebenezer and his family.
  22. 1851 Census - New Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Children Angood JOHNSON 8 Scholar, and Frederick JOHNSON, 7 Scholar both born Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. There was a Benjamin JOHNSON, aged 17 an Apprentice, born Gedney Drove, Lincolnshire with the family.
  23. 1861 Census - Wenny Road, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. I have an idea that the first two children were not the children of Hannah, as they did not marry until 1858 and there is an aged difference between Robert and Hannah. I have search on the various Censuses and on the BMD and STRATTON Chart 0600 shows what I think the situation it for this family.

The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
