  1. 1881 Spring Gardens, Newchurch, Lancashire
  2. 1871 Census - Dean Road, Newchurch, Lancashire
  3. 1901 Census - 94 Larch Street, Great Marsden St John, Nelson, Lancashire - Interesting find - John BATEMAN was 34, a Cotton Weaver, born Somersham, Lancashire his wife was Susan Ann BATEMAN, aged 40 Gevenap? Cornwall, their children were Clara BATEMAN, aged 12 born Nelson, Lancashire and Mary A BATEMAN, aged 8 months born Nelson, Lancashire, but then there was Ann BATEMAN, mother, aged 76, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire and Hannah OGDEN, sister, aged 54, a Laundress, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire.
  4. The BMD site appears to give a marriage name for John BATEMAN's wife, but although a marriage comes up for James BATEMAN he is the only person that appears. On the theory that both wives were born in the same place in Cornwall, it is possibly that James's wife was also a WILLIAMS
  5. Found Susan Ann WILLIAMS on the 1881 Census. Living at Spring Garden, Newchurch, Lancashire. Her Father was Thomas WILLIAMS, aged 55 a Willow Tester, born Cornwall, his wife Mary, aged 50 a Housewife, born Cornwall and Susan Ann aged 21 a Cotton Rover, born Cornwall. I have tried the 1871 Census, but have not come up with any conclusive result. There is a Caroline Ann Williams born in Gwennap Cornwall and at that time still living in Cornwall, but her parents do not tie up with those above and as she is down as born in 1865 I would think she was too young to marry in 1879. There is a Susan WILLIAMS, about the right age born Gwennap, Cornwall with a father of the correct name, but her mother is a Jane not a Mary, so as I say nothing conclusive to tie up the two girls who were both born in Gwennap Cornwall who married James and John as being related.
  6. 1891 Census - 1 Florence Street, Great Marsden, Nelson, Lancashire. They had one child Clara, born Nelson, Lancashire. Also May WILLIAMS, mother-in-law, born Kay, Cornwall, was with them so proving the surname of Susan his wife.

The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
