On the 1901 Census Emily’s family were still living at 23 Hard Street, unfortunately the sheet I have output only has two children showing at the top, a Nellie Brindle daughter aged 10 and a Lillian Brindle daughter aged 7. However this surely must be the same family.
Following on from my comments , I have found the BRINDLE family at 23 Hard Street on the 1891 Census, a year before Emily got married. So Emily’s father was William Brindle (40 year old in 1891) Hawker, Emily her mother (40) Emily herself (18) Paper bag maker Frederick (18) Hawker, Charles (13) Hawker, Elizabeth (11) Scholar, Martha (9) Scholar, Edwin (2) Nelly (9 months) - which ties up with Note 1 but they have spelt Nelly with a y on the 1891 Census and with an ie on the 1901, Then they have put in Mary (6) and they have put years after that so they got her out of order. They are all down as being born in Newington.
Taking this further I have found the BRINDLE family still at 21 Hard Street on the 1881 Census and we can add even more children, In addition to those already mentioned in Note 3 above there is William (12) 1881 Census and Thomas (10) 1881 Census, so assume they had left home by the time of the 1891 Census and then there is a Mary A. (1) who also does not appear on the next Census, so it is more than likely she died, so over the three Census periods 1881, 1891 and 1901 I make it that there are fourteen children listed.
On 23rd June 2003 I received an email from Ann Parnell about gravestones, Lynn Allen had found at Camberwell New Cemetery, Honor Oak, London, Emily, Alfred and I assume son Alfred were definitely included in the information she gave me.

The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
