  1. County Poll 1818
The candidates were the Rt Hon Ld Frederick Montague (978 votes), William Fellowes (837) and William Wills (466). John DRING, with a house and land in Warboys, voted for Montague and Fellowes.
  2. Bluntisham Baptist Records
Included on the microfiche are the following. Except for Nathaniel it is unclear as to whom they refer.
Johnson DRING Membership 2 July 1841 Over
Mary DRING Membership 7 February 1845 Over
Nathaniel DRING Membership ? Over, transferred to Baptist Church Swavesey11 January 1850
    Sarah DRING Membership Dismissed
Mrs DRING Membership ? t/f to Haddenham 6 January 1881
  3. 1826 Alconbury Weston, Huntingdonshire (Will of father 1826)
  4. 1841 Church End. Over, Cambridgeshire (Cynthia KIMPTON 21/8/2000)
Also in the same property was William STRATTON, age 20 Male Servant, born in
    Cambridgeshire
  5. 1881 Over End, Over, Cambridgeshire. Also with the family was an Elizabeth DRING aged 2 Granddaughter, born Over Cambridgeshire. I note that she has been shown as a child of Lucy who was not with her family on the 1881 Census.
  6. I had a family for this John and not for the seventh child John, I think that this was incorrect looking at the 1861 Census. The age of John ties up with the second one and looking at the periods I think this is much more likely. I have therefore moved this family. Also the age range between John and Lydia his wife is not so great.
  7. 1861 West Street, Over, Cambridgeshire
  8. 1871 New Road, Over, Cambridgeshire
  9. 1871 Glover Street, Over Cambridgeshire. Although in Glover Street, Nathaniel is the entry before  John, his brother on the Census. John is down as being in New Road, see Note 8.
  10. Bluntisham Baptist Records

Nathaniel DRING Membership ? Over, transferred to Baptist Church Swavesey 11th January 1850

  11. 1841 Church End. Over, Cambridgeshire (Cynthia KIMPTON 21/8/2000)
    Lived in Chicago, USA
  12. Details of Auction sent by Cynthia KIMPTON 1/9/2000
Auction of Tithe-Free Estate adapted for building and agricultural purposes at the Admiral Vernon, Over on Wednesday 4 July at 4 c'clock precisely in six lots, called Porters Farm. It contained 75 acres and was in the occupation of Mr Nathaniel DRING
  13. Entertainment in the Town Hall on Tuesday 6 April 1867 consisted of mainly sacred music and was given by a few members of the St Mary's Choir. Mister THODAY sang once, Master THODAY sang three times, a duet, trio and a solo, and Mr DRING gave a reading "Lines on his Mother's Picture" by Cowper.
  14. Meeting to be held on 1 April 1867 at the Admiral Vernon Inn at eleven inthe forenoon of the Trustees acting under the Act for Drainage, Inclosing, Divid (?) allotting certain lands in the parish of Over. Included as Trustee were Nathaniel DRING and Thomas GIFFORD
  15. Details of Auction sent by Cynthia KIMPTON 28/8/2000
Sale of Freehold and Copyhold Property to be sold at auction by Mr A JSAUNDERS at the Admiral Vernon Inn in Over on Monday 13 June 1870 at sixfor seven o'clock. Property comprised of farmhouse, homestall with dwelling house near, and 58A 0R 0P of excellent land situate in the centre of the town of Over.
There were 12 lots of pasture and arable land
Lot 3 was for a brick and tile house, fronting the village street containing 6 rooms with shop and garden occupied by Mr Wilkin on lease for years of which 7 will be unexpired at Michaelmas next.
Lot 5 was for a roomy brick and tiled farmhouse with walled garden, aboarded and tiled barn, chaff house, stables &c. &c. with a small portion of Pound Close adjoining, as in Mr. Dring's occupation,
All except Lot 3 were in the possession of N DRING and possession "can be had at Michaelmas next.
  16. 1880 US Census - Exeter Township, Clay, Kansas, USA. His wife had died before they went and there are four children with him in the United States. Nathaniel, Laura, John and Clara.
  17. We have found that the marriage of Oliver DRING to an Ann TAYLOR which appeared for  Oliver DRING on this DRING Chart 0810 was the incorrect marriage and in fact this Oliver married a Mary GEORGE. The charts now coming off of this chart starting with DRING Chart 0723 are now what we believe to be the correct line. There are a lot of Charts on this Web Site, starting with DRING 0715 which at the present time are therefore not connected to our family. I have left them on as we are sure that they will be connected at some stage. This Note will appear on all the charts that are affected.

  27. Again I think the information we had is incorrect, we have Elizabeth DRING marrying a ??? SYMINGTON but I do not think it was her but her sister Mary born in 1826 who married a William SYMINGTON, we have an Andrew SYMINGTON born Leighton Buzzard as their child and indeed on the 1851 Census there is a family matching all this at Linslade, Buckinghamshire. Except the wife is Mary born Huntingdonshire and 24 years of age which matches the Mary in this family not Elizabeth. They have another child.
  28. 1851 Church Road, Lindslade, Buckinghamshire

  32. 1881 Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire. Mary has herself born in Alconbury Weston on this Census. Still the right person as DRINGS have been with them on previous Census's and it is in the right area. There was also an Elsie COX aged 4 a Granddaughter born Neas?? Yorkshire with the family.
  33. 1891 Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire, Mary was a widow living on her own means but living down as Mother-in-Law, she was living with a Rose? SYMINGTON, who was a widow aged 35 a Postmistress born Fenny Stratford, she has three children so will need to find family on 1881 Census to find which child of William and Mary they belong.
  34. 1861 New Road, Over, Cambridgeshire. Eleanor is with her brother Nathaniel and family, down as a Companion
  35. 1851 Over End, Over Cambridgeshire. Eleanor is with her brother Nathaniel and family
  36. 1871 17 High Street North, Parson Drove, Cambridgeshire - Jonathan has remarried on this Census. Living at the same address as his brother Johnson. As well as his wife and daughter he has two servants.
  37. 1881 7 Hooper Street, St Andrew the Less, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Mary is down as wife of retired farmer at this address, but not as a Widow, but cannot find Jonathan on this Census. The daughter Cecilia shown on the 1871 Census is not with her. The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
