  1. 1861 Somersham, Huntingdonshire
  2. 1871 Census - Dean Road, Newchurch, Lancashire
  3. 1891 Census - 18 Spring Gardens, Newchurch, Lancashire. Again I think there is a mistake in relationships on this Census, but I think I have, by looking for James BATEMAN found the family of Ann, however they put James down as a nephew which he would not have been, he would have been a brother-in-law, but I still think this is the correct family. They are living in Spring Gardens, Newchurch where the family were living on the 1881 Census. Ann and James are both born in Somersham, Huntingdonshire. I know now there were two other BATEMAN families from Somersham, a George and a James both I think brothers of William above. If it came through their families it could be a nephew, but I think the ages and the place rule out this possibility. Now for the details of the family: Richard Gregory was 42 a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, his wife Ann was 39 born Somersham, Huntingdonshire. the children were: William James GREGORY, age 16, a Cotton Weaver, down as being born in Somersham, but again I think this is a mistake and he was born in Newchurch, Lancashire, just ditto's under his mother's name before it turns over the page, Alice A GREGORY age 14, a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Amelia GREGORY, aged 12 a Cotton Spinner, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Mary Han? GREGORY, aged 10 a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Sarah GREGORY, aged 8 a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Bertha GREGORY, aged 6 a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire. Then there is James BATEMAN, a widower down as I say as a Nephew, which I do not think he was, aged 31, a Weaver, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire, and Willie BATEMAN, aged 6 down as a Cousin who I think is the son of James BATEMAN, a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire
  4. 1881 Census - Carr, Newchurch, Lancashire - Richard GREGORY is the head age 32, a Cotton Weaver, born Carr, Newchurch, Lancashire, Ann his wife is 29, a Housewife, born Huntingdonshire, their children on this Census were William Jnr GREGORY, son, age 6 a Scholar, born Dean, Lancashire, Alice Ann GREGORY, daughter, age 4, born Dean, Lancashire, Amelia GREGORY, age 2, born Dean, Lancashire and Mary Hannah GREGORY, aged 2 months, also born Dean, Lancashire. next door was a James GREGORY, aged 68, a Farmer of 9 acres born Haslingden, Lancashire and his wife Alice GREGORY aged 71 a Farmers Wife, born Higher Booths, Lancashire which I assume were possibly the parents of Richard.
  5. 1901 Census - 23 Raglan Street, Nelson, Lancashire.

The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
