  1. Father - Jeremiah MAXTED (bc1804-) Labourer
  2. 1853 “of St Peters”, Broadstairs, Kent
  3. 1853 Manston, Kent
  4. 1871 Census - Elizabeth A PAINE (a new addition to this Chart and Mary T PAINE were living with their Grandparents at William and Elizabeth BLASTLAND at Nash Cottages, Margate, Kent. PLEASE NOTE that on the Census their surnames are spelt as PAINE (with a last E), Cannot find any of this family on the 1861 Census.
  5. 1891 Census - 4 Handres Street, Ramsgate, Kent.  Found on the BMB site a marriage as stated above for a Mary Terry PAINE so I am fairly certain that this is the correct one. Of course it shows two men but on the 1891 Census a Mary T SHAXTED is a visitor to the family of George PAINE a Police Constable age 23 and his family. I do not at present have George PAINE as part of the above family but I feel he must be connected and that Mary T SHAXTED is indeed the Mary Terry PAINE we are looking for. It appears that the name PAINE for this family is generally spelt with the final E. Mary had a son also a visitor to this family on this Census, an Ernest J SHAXTED aged 1. George Paine's wife was Clara PAINE aged 23 born Godstone, Surrey and they had a child Edith M PAINE aged 1 born Ramsgate, Kent. George PAINE was also 23 and born in Margate, Kent. I would think that he was a brother of Mary and Elizabeth above. If so he would have been born around 1868, some 12 years after Mary.
  6. Through Note 5 I have now found this family on the 1881 Census. Again PAINE with an E. Have found the complete family, so will have to add additional children. Elizabeth and Mary were not with the family in 1881. They were living at 4 Vincent Cottages, Margate, Kent.
  7. Now found the family on the 1871 Census. Another new addition is Jane PAINE, but she is not on 1881 Census. We already know that Elizabeth and Mary were with their Grandparents on this Census. They were living at Vincent Cottages, Margate, Kent as they were in 1881.
  8. 1881 Census - 4 Vincent Cottages, Margate, Kent
  9. 1891 Census - Chapel Hill Cottages, Margate, Kent

The idea of these charts is to give the same information that appears in the research we have done and put together in various books. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
