1861 Somersham, Huntingdonshire 1871 Census - Dean Road, Newchurch, Lancashire 1881 Census - Father Robert Barn, (that is what is says) Newchurch, Lancashire (every address on the page is the same) Sarah is down as being born in Newchurch on this Census, although we now know from the 1891 and 1901 Census she was born in Somersham, Huntingdonshire. John STANSFIELD is 25, a Cotton Weaver, born in Newchurch, Lancashire, Sarah is 25 a Housewife, born as I say on this Census in Newchurch, Lancashire, Their children, John William STANSFIELD, aged 6 a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Fred STANSFIELD, aged 4, a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Emily STANSFIELD, aged 3, born Newchurch, Lancashire and Martha Ann STANSFIELD, aged 1, born Newchurch, Lancashire. 1891 Census - Missed this before as Sarah is down as being born in Huntingdonshire, not Somersham - Address 71 St John Street, Little Marsden, Nelson, Lancashire, John STANSFIELD is 35 a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Sarah is 37, born Huntingdonshire, John William STANSFIELD is 16, a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Fred STANSFIELD is 14, a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Martha A STANSFIELD, is 11, a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Walter STANSFIELD, is 4 , a Scholar, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Edith STANSFIELD, age 2 born Nelson, Lancashire and Ernest STANSFIELD, age 2 months, born Nelson, Lancashire. 1901 Census - 7 Conduit Street, Nelson, Lancashire. I have searched for Sarah before and not found her. There was a Sarah born in Somersham, but the birth date was 1859 and I was not happy with it. This one is the correct birth date and in the correct place, so I am certain this is correct. John STANSFIELD, the Head was 45 a Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Sarah STANSFIELD, aged 47, born Somersham, Huntingdonshire, Fred STANSFIELD, aged 24, Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Martha STANSFIELD, aged 21, Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Walter STANSFIELD, aged 14, Cotton Weaver, born Newchurch, Lancashire, Edith STANSFIELD, aged 12, Cotton Weaver (Half Timer) born Nelson, Lancashire, Gertrude STANSFIELD, aged 8, born Nelson, Lancashire, Evelyn STANSFIELD, aged 5, born Nelson, Lancashire. Also with the family was Ann STANSFIELD, mother, age 65 a Widow, born Newchurch, Lancashire.
