  1. Percy WALLER was handsome. (Mrs Evelyn WEST states she never knew he was killed in World War I)  Comment from Mrs. Winifred WILTON
  2. Winifred WILTON was a bridesmaid in white dress and pink sash. She was better off than other child. Comment from Mrs. Winifred WILTON
  3. May and Charlie lived in Slinfold. They were very poor and cooked on a fire of twigs in the garden. (Information from BUNCE family is that May was married to Sid HOWICK) Comment from Mrs. Winifred WILTON
  4. Ada and her husband had a son, Victor. Comment from Mrs. Winifred WILTON
  5. Edie and her husband had a daughter who “did well”. Comment from Mrs. Winifred WILTON
  6. Bertha and her husband had two children. Her sister Olive’s daughter, Eva, lived with Bertha for a while. Olive left Bertha her gold watch. Mrs Evelyn WEST writes that this was not correct. Bertha bought a watch in memory of her sister from money sent to her by Oliver COBB, her sister’s husband.

  9. Information from Mrs Evelyn WEST who writes that the WALLER's were a well known family in Cranleigh, and that she and her sister often stayed with their grandparents. All the girls in the family went to work at Christ’s Hospital Blue Coat School as pantry maids, matron’s maids or scullery maids.
  10. Information from Mrs Evelyn WEST: “Used to rush around on a motor cycle and was a bit of a problem to his parents. He eventually married a flapper”.

  13. 1881 Census - The Village, Cranleigh, Surrey - Walter WALLER is shown as living at The Village. He was a Partner to John RANDALL, head, unmarried, age 28, a Master Bootmaker born in Bridgewater, Somerset. Besides Walter an apprentice appears to have been employed in the business. Also living in the same house was Mary RANDALL, John’s mother, a widow, age 57, a nurse born in London, Middlesex.

  15. 1871 Census - 1871 Ellen’s Green, Ewhurst, Surrey. There was a Walter WALLER, age 16, Ag Lab born Cranley Surrey as a patient in Cranleigh Hospital on the night of the Census.
