There are several words in this will which I have as yet been unable to decipher - these are shown as ??? in the following transcription. The Probatum at the end is also in Latin which I will have to see if anyone can translate for me at a later date. I have also put in the spelling where possible in the form that it appeared on the Will.
In the name of God Amen I Edward Dackombe of the Burrough of Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck and County of Dorset being by the ??? of Almighty God in sound and perfect mind and memory Doo make this my last will and testamont in manner and forms following that is to say first I bequeath my souls to God that ??? it trusting to ??? saved by the mouths of my only Saviour and ??? ??? Christ and my body to the earth from where it came hoping for a ??? full ??? as the day our Lord Jesus And secondly as to that estate ??? it hath pleased Almighty God of his goodness to bless ??? my will ??? to dispose thereof in manner and forme following that is to say my will is that all my good ??? Land and ??? ??? and ??? ??? and being in the parish of Corfe Castle and Island aforesaid (excepting what is included in the Deed which I made in marriage for a ??? for my wife) with the profits thereof and liberty and power for my Executors in trust hereafter named to ???-up Estates and to grant ??? and to sell the ffee of any part of my said lands ??? or ??? (if it shall not ??? ??? and ??? to my said Executors and the money thereof not raised shall be employed for the payment of my Debts and or maintenance and advantage of my children, and my will is that ??? my debts are discharged that my said goods shall ??? lands ???? and ??? shall be charged with the ??? of ffour hundred pounds for a ??? for my daughter Elizabeth to be payed if she marry with the consent of my said Executors at her age of One and Twenty years or ??? married and of four hundred pounds for a ??? for my Sonne Edward to bee paid to him at his age of one and Twenty years and after the said summes shall be so raised for the ??? of my said Sons and Daughter, my will ??? that the profit interest and advantage of the remainder of my said estate that ??? of and in all my Lands ??? and ??? shall bee for the only ??? of my eldest sonne and his heirs for ever And of this my last will and Testament I make my loving wife my brother in law - ??? ??? St ??? ??? Thomas ??? ??? ??? Roger Clavell of ??? and ??? Frampton Esquire to be bee my Executors in trust and do give them full ??? and authority to ??? and dispose of my estate as I have before ??? and ??? to the said ??? ??? paying themselves heir expenses out of the profits of my said estate which they shall ??? out in ??? my said will and allowing ??? ??? to ??? of them a gold ring to the value of Twenty shillings as a token of my ??? and thanks to them for ??? ??? a being the charged ??? ??? my will aforesaid in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and mark he thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Six hundred seventy and seven Edward Dackombe signed sealed published and ??? to bee my last will and testament in the presence of signed ??? ??? ??? ???
Item my will is that my very Loving Neighbour Giles Frampton Esq be an Executor in Trust of this may last will and testament in the ??? of Mr Samuel ???? ???? ???? ???? unto my Daughter Margaret four hundred pounds to bee paid her under the same conditions with her sister Elizabeth But my will is that of any or either of my younger Children die the Survivor or Survivors shall have with or ??? both of them Four hundred pounds to be paid as above said By witness whounto I have set my and and seal the twenty eighth day October one thousand Six hundred eighty Edward Dackombe Signed sealed and published to be my last will and testament in the presence of John Newman Rector of Knowls Elizabeth ???
