This will has now been partly transcribed. As you will see there is still a lot of words that we cannot decipher. We will have another attempt in the future. (Bonnie Mann in the US has sent me the transcription below of this Will, which adds a lot to what I had managed to decipher. I have therefore replaced mine with hers.)
Last Will and testament of Aquila Wyke
In the name of God Amen. This second day of April in the year of our Lord Christ------------------------ to said ---------nor afore in England One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and Nyne I Aquila Wyke of the City of Westminster in the County of Middlesex, gentlemen being sick and weak in Body but of good and serious memory sinful be to Almighty God therefore I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in mannor and form following to them my (there unto my). I bequeath my Soule into the hand of Almighty God that gave it too me hoping and gladfully believing by and through me not with any suffering of my Holiest Saviour Jesus Christ so ordained remission of all my sins and to be made soulful of --- --- --- in the world to come. And my body I commit to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named. Not withstanding the disposition of such worldly issues and it either pleases God to Bless me with all. First, I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wyfe Mary Wykes all that my Messuage or tenament together with a Stable a Courtyard and a Garden with appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the possession of Oliver Lord Hitz Williams situate and being in the Broad Londoniom in the parish of Saint Margaret in Westminster a foresaid adjoining and abaiting in the Messuage wherein the said Aquila Wyke doo now dwell on the West and on the North end of the Abby Church in Westminister aforesaid on the North to have and to hold for the said Mary Wykes into my Wyfe before Mary Wykes my daughter shall attain her age of one and twenty years or be married which shall first happen. Provided always that my said wife shall well maintain toward and bring up my said daughter until her said age of one and twenty years or be married which shall first happen. I doo give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary Wykes and her heirs the aforesaid Messuages stable courtyard and premises with appurtenances to have and to hold unto my said daughter her heirs and assignor. To the only life and behoold of my said daughter her heirs and assignors for ever. I so bidde and always behold for and upon condition that if my honor ---- or ----- shall well and hold every ---- be paid unto my said daughter Mary Wyke her -------------- the full and whole time pf one thousand pounds of lawful monies of England and her age of one and twenty years on the tyme of her marriage which of them shall first happen. Their then and from this day forth-. Third I devise and bequeath of the said Messauge tenements stable --- house and garden to my said daughter and her heirs shall --- with it, shall be lawful to and for my heirs and assignor unto the said Messuage tenement --- house and garden.thereby not in manor or to --- and the same to have hold and injoy for ever. Provided also that if my said daughter shall in the life tyme of my said Wife Mary wish or be married unto and or --- first without and against the consent and good liking of my said Wife that then after and from thence forth this gift and bequest made and aforesaid to my said daughter shall be not only void from. I give and bequeath unto my said Wife during that thern of her naturall life all that of my Messuage Lands Tenements and Appurtenments wherefor Provided always nevertheless that my said Wife shall during her life well advise and bring upon and cause to be well educated and brought upon --- and learning and afterward and sustinously maintained in need ----- approval and all other ---- and ---- both my sonns Edward and Aquila Wyke in first mannor or shall be fitting for those qualities and conditions. And from and after the decease of my said Wyfe I do so give and bequeath to my younger sonne Aquila Wyke and his heirs and assignor for ever all my Messauge lands tenements and hereditaments to him forever with their and every of their appurtenances lying and being in Broword yard in the parish of Saint Margaret in Westminister aforesaid now or late in the possession of Edward Buttonsby and his assignor. And herebefore all my messauge and tenements and heriditaments within their and every of their appurtenances situate lying and being in Sellisorm in the said parish of Saint Margaret in Westminster aforesaid now or late in the possession of Boyds Widdow or her assignor to have and hold those same Messuage lands tenements hereditaments and premises in Browden Yard and Pettifrand aforesaid with there and every of their appurtenances from and after the decease of my said Wife unto my said sonne Aquila Wyke his heirs and assignor forever. To thereby be and behoofed of my said sonne Aquila Wyke his heirs and assignor for ever and my said --- --- to that after the decease of my said Wyfe all the rest of my messuage lands tenements and heridatments whatsoever whosoever and wherein I --- and Aquila Wyke the --- shall deceased shall remaind devise and bequeath to my said sonne Edward Wyke for his heirs and assignor forever. And all my goods -------------------------(all my debt and funeral and all charges being paid and discharge ) I give and bequeath to my said loving wife Mary Wykes whom I doo herby make and ordain to be sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have to this my lanst will and testament contained in two pieces of paper set my hand and seal the date and year forth above written. A Wykes. Justifying Subscribed ??

This will was proved at London the Third and Twentieth day of the Month of May in the Year of Our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and Nine before the Judge for probate of Will and granting administration lawfully authorized by the oath of Mary Wyke the proper and sole and only executrix named in the above written will commissioned administration of all and singular the good chattels and debts of the said deceased was granted and committed he being duly totally sworn truly and lawfully to administer the same.
