• My mothers father was Albert Ernest POWELL, born 3rd February 1886 at 10 Morrison Street, Battersea, Surrey. His occupation was a Printing Machine Operator. He died on 14th March 1956 at 74 Tudor Avenue, Worcester Park, Surrey. His wife was Agnes Olive COBB whom he married on 18th August 1907 at St Philip, Battersea, London.
  The children of Albert were as follows:
  Olive Kathleen, born 14th September 1908, Tooting, married Charles Fraser Terry
  Charles Ernest, born 14th September 1908, Tooting, died 8th November 1908

• The father of Albert was Charles Henry POWELL, born 30th January 1846 at 2 Greencoat Cottages, Tothill Fields, Westminster, Middlesex. He died on 22nd December 1919 at Guys Hospital, London due to fracture of skull caused by a fall from roof to ground below whilst employed at brewery. He married Matilda Rachel GEORGE on 23rd August 1874 at St James, Bermondsey.
  The children of Charles were as follows:
  Selina (Sissie) Florence, born 22nd December 1874, Bermondsey, married Alfred James Marshall
  Matilda Jane, born 6th April 1877, Battersea, married George Edwin Wilton
  Charlotte Alice, born 3rd April 1879, Battersea, married Frederick William Judge
  Charles William, born 9th June 1881, Battersea, married Julia Elizabeth Chase
  Albert Ernest, born 3rd February 1886, Battersea, married Agnes Olive COBB.

• The father of Charles was a James POWELL, who was baptised on 12th July 1807 at St Mary, Reigate, Surrey, he married a Harriett Welbey SANDFORD on 29th April 1829 at St George, Hanover Square, Westminster, Middlesex
  The children of James were as follows:
  Ann, born 1832, married Charles Bucknell
  James, born 8th April 1834, Westminster, Middlesex, buried 5th February 1836
  Harriett Welbey, baptised 12th September 1836, St Margaret, Westminster, married Peter Ottley
  Sarah, born 1840, Otford, Kent
  Rebecca, born 10th October 1841, Westminster, married Charles Dean
  Charlotte, born 1844, Westminster
  William James, born 27th May 1846, Westminster, married Henrietta Mary Restell
  Charles Henry, born 30th January 1849, Westminster, married Matilda Rachel GEORGE
  Matthew John, born 8th October 1851, Westminster
  Isaac George Edward, born 31st October 1856, Westminster

• The father and mother of Matilda Rachel GEORGE were William Charles GEORGE born 1834, Marylebone, Middlesex, occupation Coach Smith and Matilda GURNEY born 1837, Marylebone, Middlesex, they married on 25th December 1853 at St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, the witnesses were Tho. GEORGE and Jane Elizabeth SOLOMON
  The children of William and Matilda were:
  Matilda (Rachel) born 20th September 1854, 17 Church Street, Chelsea, Middlesex, died 11th April 1930 25 Braod Street, Dagenham, Essex married 23rd August 1874 St James, Bermondsey, Surrey Charles Henry POWELL
  Ellen (Nellie) born 1852 St Pancras, Middlesex, married 1880, Lewisham William BROWN
  Margaret born 1865, Islington, Middlesex
  Caroline (Carrie) born 1867, Marylebone, Middlesex married ??? APPLEGARTH

• The father of William Charles GEORGE was a Thomas GEORGE who was a printer, nothing is known at present of his wife or when they were married.
