Thomas Gemmell, from TheatreFusion, comments: "Richard Wright wrote Haunter, one of the most memorable aspects of TheatreFusion's 2001 production Haunted. A year later, people still talk about the shivers that ran down their spines as they heard the Haunter's tale. For me, Richard's great strength is to present ideas, images and storylines that unsettle not only in the theatre, but also linger long after the performance is ended. They can creep into your mind weeks later, when you are walking alone down a dark street, or in that seemingly endless few seconds in the darkness before you fumble for the light switch. We are also excited to be working with director Katherine Morley, who recently directed the premiere of 'Slit' at The Tron, 'Dance Trilogy', an Arches commission for Intervention and 'Bedsong' for Fondue Theatre at BAC during the British Festival of Visual Theatre. She has really worked magic at making the words and characters leap from the page, and the actors have responded with just as much conviction. This brand new collection of three tales is powerful and imaginative and we are delighted to be presenting another theatrical first in Scottish venues." |
BACKGROUND TheatreFusion present another play for the witching season. Following the success of 2001's Haunted, the same team brings a new collection of three chillers, especially written for TheatreFusion by acclaimed writer Richard Wright.
