Dagenham & Redbridge gave a masterclass in football in the first half of this match against bottom of the table Cowley. Playing their neat passing football they dominated despite having a strong wind against them. They went 1-0 up early on when a fine move saw S.Thorne released on the wing and his inch perfect cross left H.Short with the simple task of heading the ball into a gaping net. Daggers second was the best goal scored either for or against us all season. Starting from the right hand side of their own area an eight pass, five man move saw P.O'Driscoll released on the left wing side and with a superb left foot chip he cleared the on rushing keeper and nestled the ball in the back of the net. Cowley did pull a goal back just before halftime when a speculative shot hit the bar and hit the keeper on the way into the net. D&R did not play with quie the same rhythm in the second half as instead of concentrating on their passing game they resorted to using the wind to send long balls upfield. Despite they were rarely threatened and added a third goal late on when a corner from the left hit J.Pomper on the side of the head and flew into the back of the net.
