Pre-Season Friendlies

The Daggers have announced two pre-season fixtures. Saturday July 21st, Away v Tiverton Town. Saturday July 28th, Home v Shamrock Rovers.

New Kit & Deal

The Daggers are pleased to announce a new three year kit deal with Vandanel worth £15,000 to the club. Also, the a new home kit for the 2001/02 and 2002/03 seasons will be available in the club shop on Saturday. The new deal will be signed on Saturday as well.

ESC Off

The Essex Senior Cup Final between the Daggers and Canvey Island has been called off after Canvey refused to play. This is due to their huge fixture congestion. Clarification has not been received on the issue, but the game is OFF.

Chernobyl Kids Visit

The Daggers have invited the Chernobyl Children's Lifelife to the match against Yeovil. All children are staying in Havering during the trip, which is designed to let children affected by the radioactive disaster breathe clean air and eat uncontaminated food. It is hoped that this can become a regular feature for the children in future. 13 of them will be given special gift sets containing clothing donated by Vandanel.

News on Matthews

Lee Matthews will be out for at least 3 weeks after sustaining a head injury against Telford that required 9 stitches. The Telford player involved in the clash, Kevin Sandwith, required 44 stitches and is also out for at least 3 weeks.

Buy A Brick

To help fund the cost of the new stand, the Daggers are running a "Buy a Brick" scheme. The club received a grant of £400,000 towards the £500,000 the stand will cost, and the sceme will hpoefully help to cover the shortfall. The names of contributors will be inscribed in a plaque in the wall on the stand and each contributor will receive a certificate. One brick costs £25 to sponsor. Award For Hill

Daggers manager Garry Hill has been awarded Manager of the Month for March, following the Daggers' 9 game winning streak. This is the second time in a row he has been given the award, after his joint award with Lippiat of Woking is February.

New Keeper

The Daggers completed the signing of young Peterborough United keeper John Vaughan on transfer deadline day last Thursday.
