The Daggers re-introduced Steve Heffer in this match after his honeymoon and Lee Goodwin passed a fitness test. The Daggers were without goalkeeper Tony Roberts who was ill and didn't travel, and so Danny Honey, the ex-Yeading and Slough keeper, was drafted in to fill the gap. It was Honey who saw much of the early action, starting his string of impressive saves in the 5th minute and ending it at least half a dozen saves later in the 90th minute. Tim Cole helped out a great deal, clearing two efforts off the line. The Daggers almost took the lead just before half time though, Matt Jones sending over a cross from the left wing and Junior McDougald met it with a header only to send it wide from four yards out.

In the second half, the Daggers nearly scored almost immdiately, McDougald putting Jones through but his shot was blocked. In the 52nd minute, the Daggers did get the only goal of the game. McDougald went on a run which was halted just inside the box when he was clipped from behind, the linesman signalling the foul. Junior himself got up to score. Tate nearly rescued a point for his side, only to see Honey push the ball brilliantly behind the goal. For the rest of the game, the Daggers fought to hang on, Honey producing more good saves to keep the home team out right up until the final whistle which signalled the three points for the Daggers.
