The Daggers put a big dent into Yeovil's title aspirations, as the Glovers lost their third game in the last five. The Daggers were without Tim Cole, so Vickers moved into the centre of defence and Broom moved back to full back with Hayzelden getting a start up the left.

As the game started, it seemed as if the Daggers were in for a torrid time as Yeovil passed the ball well and pushed the Daggers back. The away side seemed to be coping fine with the pressure though, until the 8th minute when Yeovil took the lead. Patmore rose to head a right wing cross goalwards, and although Roberts made a great reaction save, Way was following in to score.

This seemed to be the motivation the Daggers needed to come back into it though. They started to play some good football of their own and the game started to even out. The score followed suit after 20 minutes when Matthews levelled for the visitors. A free kick on the right was swung in to the back post and the ball was allowed to drop in the area for Matthews to smash home.

Yeovil seemed to panick after this and resorted to long-ball tactics which the Daggers defence coped with easily. Indeed, it was the Daggers who started to play the better football and they pushed Yeovil back into their own half.

Shipp could have given the Daggers the lead with a left foot shoot that was deflected off a defender. He did net after 37 minutes though. A right wing cross was headed on at the near post and Shipp hit a crisp left-foot volley across Pennock and into the corner of the net.

After the break, the Daggers were still not overly troubled by Yeovil until they extended their lead further. After four minutes of the restart, Shipp again scored, his second of the game and his third in the league of the season. Goodwin played the ball into him and he turned and shot across Pennock and into the far bottom corner.

Mark Janney had another good chance for the Daggers. The ball sat up for him on the edge of the box and he hit a left foot volley that dipped just over the bar. Yeovil then started to bombard the Daggers defence with long-ball attacks.

Ashley Vickers and Lee Matthews coped very well with the aerial attacks though, and Yeovil did not have any chances despite all their pressure other than a few corners that were cleared or caught by Roberts.

However, as the game drew towards its conclusion, Roberts had to make two great saves to keep the score at 3-1. The first was a powerful dipping shot across the goal which Roberts managed to dive towards and divert over the bar.

The second was again hit across him but from closer range, and as the ball seemed to be going into the side of the net until Roberts dived to his left and pushed it round the post.
