This was not a great game by any means but there was plenty of incident and goalmouth action at both ends. Lock played in the absence of the injured Shipp whilst the rest of the team stayed the same.

Lock had a good early chance for the home side when he got the ball in space 20 yards out but as he run towards goal a defender got back and he couldn't beat him. Broom had another chance early on as Janney controlled a long pass and backhealed to Broom who was fouled, Jones hitting the free kick high and wide

The Daggers created a good opening soon after. The keeper spilt a shot and Stein saw his shot blocked by a defender before Smith hit a long shot that was just missed by Stein's diving header and went just wide.

Stein did score after 21 minutes though. Lock headed on a goal kick and Stein outpaced and outmuscled the defender to go through and poke the ball past the onrushing keeper.

The Daggers lost their concentration though and Scarborough were very soon back in the game. A good move was finished when a back post cross was met by the slide of Stamp who diverted the ball in.

The Daggers couldn't get back into their stride after this and the game became scrappy, the referee providing the only entertainment with some hilarious decisions, who was joined in his comedy act by the linesmen.

However, just before half time Scarborough took the lead. Another cross saw Stoker unconvincingly beat the offside trap, but his finish was all but unconvincing as he slotted the ball home.

Another twist followed seconds later. Seconds before the interval, Stein equalised with his and the team's second. Jones was fed by a great Hill pass and he shot low across the keeper. It was blocked and rebounded straight to Stein who helped himself from a couple of yards.

The second half again had goals but also had some less savoury incidents. Broom was booked for retaliation after he was obstructed in midfield, and Hill was booked for kicking the ball away after another frustrating decision.

However, five minutes in, the Daggers took the lead. Heffer tried to play the ball to Janney on the right and the clearance was sliced up in the air. The keeper advanced to narrow the angle as Janney volleyed across the box but it was to no avail as Rennison bundled the ball into his own goal with help from Lock.

Stein almost completed his hattrick when he flicked Broom's cross goalwards from 6 yards but he forced a good save from the keeper. As the game threatened to die out somewhat again, Stein sealed the points for the Daggers.

Lock was played in down the left and he pulled back a great cross that bypassed the defence and was perfect for Stein to head into the back of the net to complete a great personal performance and a great hattrick.

Their was a slightly less savoury incident with ten minutes to go though. Janney was felled by a hack from Rennison and got up and pushed the Boro defender. After some handbags at two paces, Rennison aimed a headbutt at Janney. Both were sent off.

As the game come to a close, Jones and Lock both hit good chances wide and high respectively, and Brodie fired just wide in the away side's only real chance of the half.
