The Daggers started with the same team that faced Margate on Tuesday, and did not start very convincingly. The defence gave the ball away in dangerous areas several times and it was only good recovery work that stopped Telford having a shot on goal.

Telford could have taken the lead when a cross was headed inches over the top, and the Daggers looked to be in further trouble when Lee Goodwin went off with a leg injury. So, with only two defenders on the pitch, Heffer moved back and Brennan, on for Goodwin, covered the back line.

The Daggers took the lead somewhat against the run of play when a free kick was played to Jones on the left and he swung a cross over for Mark Smith to head past Price in the home goal.

Mark Janney had a god effort with a left foot volley from the edge of the box as the Daggers started to play better. Mark Brennan had two charged down before firing just wide with his right foot from 20 yards.

Jones had a chance when he got behind the defence from a Rooney through ball but the keeper beat him to it. As the half progressed the Daggers pushed Telford back and the Daggers saw much more of the ball than in the first 20 minutes.

The second half saw Telford completely fall apart however. The Daggers took complete control and Stein nearly added a second goal as the Daggers pushed forward. Shipp laid the ball off to him and he hit a right foot volley across goal that went inches wide of the post.

Stein also created a chance for Shipp as he chested down a long pass to his strike partner who hit a left foot volley but did not connect properly, skewing it wide of the goal.

Stein did net when he was played through and cut inside his marker before sidefooting the ball into the far top corner from 10 yards.

He almost added his second when he chased a long ball and hit it on the volley and tried to lob the keeper but it went just over.

Danny Shipp added a third with a well taken goal. He received the ball 15 yards out and turned inside before shooting low into bottom corner past the helpless Price.

Price did make a save eventually when Shipp tried a shot from 20 yards that was going towards the bottom corner but he tipped it round the post.

The Daggers then started to pass the ball around, putting together a great run of possession, each pass cheered by the travelling support. Tony Lock and Hayzelden came on towards the end and contributed in this period.

Lock forced a reaction save from Price when he cut in from the right and blasted the ball at the keeper's head from about 10 yards, forcing the keeper to block the ball.

As the game slowed down, the Daggers afforded Telford tow shots on goal that were both saved by Roberts before Paul Terry added a fourth in stoppage time. The ball was played back to him 12 yards out and he sidefooted home, keen to tell everyone that it was left footed.

From the kick-off, the Daggers seemed to expect the final whistle and just let Edwards run straight down the pitch with the ball and slot between Roberts' legs.

However, a convincing score-line, and bar the first 20 minutes, a good performance by the whole team.
