The Daggers produced a dispirited and appalling display after their midweek mauling of Exeter. The Daggers were sluggish throughout apart from a period towards the end of the first half. It was the same side that started the Exeter game with the exception of Stein who was injured, McDougald in for him.

The game was slow throughout, Telford playing long-ball for most of the game and the Daggers trying to follow suit, despite the fact that the home side didn't win a high ball all day.

Telford were the first to score when Hanmer hit a volley from the edge of the box that wickedly deflected past Roberts. Telford also ahd another good chance that was blaster well wide by Hanmer again.

The Daggers came into it in the second quarter though. Charlery headed well wide when unmarked at a corner, and forced a superb save when he headed Janney's cross across goal only for Edwards to change direction and push it away.

The goal did come when Edwards came out to punch clear a ball, flooring Hayzelden in the process, but McDougald was alert to cross onto Charlery's head for the equaliser.

Charlery headed another cross straight at the keeper and went into the half time break looking like they would go on and win.

Nothing could be more from the truth. The second half was a long ball fest, as the Daggers pumped high balls into Charlery, none of which he won. The midfield were second to everything as Telford battled hard and won most of the tackles.

It didn't take Telford long to go ahead, as Fitzpatrick headed into the top corner within 5 minutes of the restart. The deciding goal came from a bad refereeing mistake though.

The linesman gave a goal kick, but the referee, who was trying to be the start throughout, gave a corner. From the corner, Bentley rose highest to head home. This saw a complete capitualtion from the home side who put up little resistance to the remaining goals.

Hanmer seemed to have netted as he cut in from the left and smashed it across goal, but Martindale claimed the last touch as the ball hit the net. Then Moore, with his first touch, robbed Smith and slotted the ball into the net to make it five. Moore also crashed a shot against the post for the away side.

The Daggers made a little fight of it towards the end, Shipp heading across goal forcing the keeper into a diving save, and Charlery's header from a cross lacked power.

Telford deserved to win, although five was a little harsh on the home side, but this had been coming after several months of poor league form where many underserved wins have been snatched. Garry Hill will have to get the lads up for the Christmas games if the club are to sustain a promotion push.
