The Daggers changed formation to a 3-5-2 of sorts, with Hooper the right wing back and Jones on the left in the absence of Vickers, with West, Goodwin and Smith in the middle. Shipp played with Heffer and Terry with McDougald in place of Charlery to help hold the ball up more.

The Daggers were the better of the two sides in the first half and most of the play was in Yeovil's half. Danny Shipp had two early efforts when he got a loose ball from a corner and drove it over the bar, and another effort when he hit his shot from the edge of the box at the keeper.

However, Yeovil only needed one chance to score. On a rare venture into the visitor's half, Crittenden came forward and planted a pinpoint cross onto McIndoe's head, and he rose to loop a header over Roberts and into the far top corner.

The Daggers were soon back in it though, as their possession and territorial advantages paid off. Paul Terry tried a shot from the right channel, and although he scuffed it, the ball found West who was on hand to slot home from close range.

In another twist, Yeovil hit straight back, with the third goal within just 6 minutes. Yeovil's second effort on goal produced their second goal, as Terry could only head his clearance to Stansfield, who took his time and smashed the ball in off post giving Roberts no chance.

The Daggers kept going though and still held much of the play in Yeovil's half. Yeovil had one other effort in the half when Grant fired over the bar after turning on the side of the box, and Heffer could have got the Daggers back on level terms when he fired wide after a Paul Terry corner.

The equaliser the Daggers deserved came within a couple of minutes of the restart though. Jones swung the free kick over, and Weale came for it and completely missed his punch, leaving Goodwin to cushion his header into the back of the net from 18 yards via the post.

Once again Yeovil hit straight back, but this time the goal was disallowed. Brassart fired a left foot volley through a crowded box, and although the ball found the far bottom corner, Roberts was unsighted by a player in an offside position, and the linesman gave the free kick.

Yeovil now became the team with more of the ball, but they couldn't really carve out an openings, their best effort coming when Roberts easily saved McIndoe's shot from the edge of the box.

When the Daggers did come forward, Danny Hill was a creative influence in midfield and his passing meant the Daggers could keep the ball longer, taking the pressure off the defence.

The Daggers took the lead for the first time in the game through Stein, and it looked like it could be the winner. Charlery won a flick on, and Broom turned and had the space to place his shot into the far top corner. He weighted it almost perfectly, the ball coming back off the bar, but Stein was there to volley it across the keeper and into the net.

Yeovil threw everything they had at the Daggers for the last ten minutes as they tried to get back into it. It seemed as if their efforts would be in vain as the Daggers dealt with everything thrown at them. However, they did get back level with 5 minutes left as Giles headed in a far post cross from the left.

The Daggers still thought a win was possible though and McDougald had a good chance when he had space on the edge of the box, but his shot lacked power and let Weale make an easy save.

A much better performance from the Daggers, who would have been glad for a change of scenery after so many home games recently, with their last away game coming at Hayes in late December. Hopefully the Daggers can build on this and put together a run to help sustain the title challenge.
