The Daggers bounced back emphatically from the heartbreak at Norwich just a few days earlier. Without Mark Janney and Steve Heffer, the Daggers plumped for a 4-3-3 with West, Stein and Junior all up front. It didn't take long for the new look formation to produce a goal either, inside of ten minutes when Junior's volley hit the back of the net.
It was clear that Barnet weren't trying too hard, as a couple of their team sported tights, and showed nothing like the form they usually reserve for games against the Daggers. The home side were not pushing home the advantage though and the comeback was expected as had been seen on Boxing Day at Underhill. However, it wasn't forthcoming and the Daggers extended the lead through Shipp.
After an initial free kick was fired into a defender deemed too close to the ball, at the second attempt, the ball was rolled to Shipp who thundered the ball goalwards, Naisbitt only helping it on its way onto the post and into the back of the net. Just a few minutes later, West added his contribution with a simple goal after McGrath's cross created confusion.
The second half was more of the same as the Daggers contained the visitors and added to their total. Stein was put through and rounded the keeper to slot home. This all came after Barnet's best chance when Agogo got down the line and fired into the side netting, whilst Roberts injured his ankle and was later replaced.
Barnet pulled one back when Agogo rounded Gothard and slotted home, but there was little further threat and Stein completed the scoring from McGrath's cross. Just before the end, McGrath almost added one of his own when he beat several men and fired just wide from the edge of the box.
