The Daggers will be left wondering how they didn't win this game. They spent most the game camped into Burton's half but just couldn't find a goal. Janney, West and Heffer were all out, the latter two with suspensions. This meant Tim Cole had a welcome recall to the bench after his injury problems. Gary Fletcher was up front for West and Smith replaced Heffer.

Gary Fletcher had the first goal effort, Rooney's through ball setting the loan signing free, but he could only curl it wide of the near post. Junior had a chance when he went through in a wide position and tried a delicate chip that Duke just fingertipped away. He then recovered to palm it away from Fletcher who tried to bury the loose ball.

McGrath, whose earlier shot from the edge of the area had gone wide, had another chance from a free kick. He curled it over the wall but Duke went full length to push it behind. Roberts' only work was a block early in the half.

After the break, Duke seemed lucky to stay on after he committed a foul well out of his box, but luckily for Burton, he stayed on. This meant he could save McGrath's effort, and then at point blank range from Fletcher, and he then dived to push away Shipp's effort. With minutes left, Matthews volleyed high and wide after McGrath's cross as the Daggers left with a point.
