The Daggers had to grind out the win in this game after a lethargic start, the eventual winner coming from the penalty spot. New boy Tarkan Mustafa was in the team on the right of midfield, and KK Opara was back at the club and in the squad as the Daggers had only 2 recognised strikers fit. Farnborough's decimated squad was shwon by the fact that only 3 players had first xi shirts on.

Paul Terry was playing very well, which later earned him the official man of the match award, and he played Stein through whose shot across Pennock was well held by the Welshman. McGrath was also causing a few problems with crosses that the keeper had to palm away.

At the other end, Baptiste and Charlery were trying to open the scoring and Baptiste chipped at Roberts. This was a prelude to a good chance when Charlery made a hash and let Roberts make the save.

Paul Terry almost scored himself with a good first-time lob after being put through but it scraped the top of the net. Stein put another chance from a Terry pass into the crowd as he stuttered again.

The second half was much more Daggers as they tried to grasp a win to take them closer to their play-off hopes. The best chance seemed to have passed as Junior went through on McGrath's superb ball and was hacked down, the referee refusing the penalty claims. With a clear shot on the keeper and inside the box, favourite to score, why would he dive?

Baptiste missed a header wide of the post from Pitcher's cross to let the Daggers off the hook as they pressed forward, but another close penalty went with award when Patterson seemed to handball as Junior burst past.

The deciding moment came via substitute Vansittart. An inspired sub by manager McDonald, brought on to decide the game, he did just that - for the wrong team. As Matthews went for the ball in the box he decided the best form of defence was to hold Matthews around the throat. Penalty. Junior did the business low to Pennock's right, just inside the post.
