Well, if Tuesday was exciting then this was dull to say the least. Having said that, I'm sure no Dagger will complain on three hard points earned against high flying Scarborough, which completes a duo of 1-0 wins over the Yorkshire side. Garry Hill rested several players after their exertions against Plymouth and in view of a tough 2 game a week schedule coming up. Gothard was given a start, although, like his opposite number, he had very little to do. Rooney was also in, with Danny Hill, Stein, Fletcher and Potts completing the fresh faces.
There was very little action, a cross shot going over Gothard's goal early on and then a header going straight into his arms. At the other end, chances were also few with ex Prem pair Dryden and Holdsworth dealing with the high ball against little and little pairing Stein and Fletcher. There was also little joy on the deck, not much pace or holding up abilities on show. When Stein did get through he was halted by a few dodgy offside flags.
Second half, Fletcher had a seemingly easy header after Vickers' cross but he headed it straight at Woods in his only sniff of the game. Brassart rattled the Daggers' post with a free kick, and the Daggers had a few good penalty shouts turned down as Mr Singh's second half was not quite on a par with his very good first, one when Shipp was clearly being pulled around his waist by Holdsworth.
The Daggers started to hold most of the play but were hindered somewhat by the complete lack of movement that greeted Danny Hill's creative arrival on the ball. However, there was to be a goal despite all signs pointing down 0-0 road. Junior and West were on, and it was the latter who made it three points and eighth place for the Daggers with league goal number 10. Hill's corner was flicked on and West was at the back post to thump the ball home.
