The Daggers came into this game on the back of eight straight wins in the league, and Stevenage on a run of draws since Westley's and half of Farnborough's team's arrival. This made for a rather odd looking numbers game on the back of the visiting shirts. The Daggers made one change, bringing in Smith for Watts, allowing Junior to partner Stein in attack.

The visitors started by far the brighter as they buzzed around in midfield and had much of the early possession. It took a defensive mix up to gift them the lead though as Matthews left for Smith after Vickers' interception and Elding, recently signed from the cheats, got in and steered the ball past Roberts. Cue Matthews politely telling Smith that as he called it, he should have cleared it.

Roberts had to field a speculative outside of the boot effort from the edge of the box and another similar effort from closer in as Stevenage continued to dominate the play. The task became even harder for the Daggers as they again conceded, this time from a dodgy free kick after Heffer had seemed to have won the ball. After Boro formed their own wall to shield the routine, the Daggers were slow to break out at the ball and Wormull lashed it into the top corner.

Roberts then had to make a good save to keep out number three which would surely have ended it. Minutes later the Daggers were back in it as Stein got in at the near post to flick Mustafa's cross over Perez with his head. Junior's run along the by-line was halted by a Perez save with his legs as the Daggers tried to push for the equaliser.

The second half was all Dagenham as Stevenage didn't manage a single shot on goal, and it wasn't long before it was all square. Bunce typically gave away a free kick with a clumsy tackle and McGrath's free kick went in off a mixture of Stein head and shoulder, and shoulder of Laker leaving Perez standing still. This took Stein to 5 in the last two games after a barren run previous to this.

It could have been another soon after when Perez decided to take his own defender out, leaving him to be stretchered off, and leaving the ball to roll towards goal, Junior not able to reach it before it crossed the line. Danny Hill was stopped by a good last minute challege and Watts' good control from a difficult bouncing ball let him in for a lofted finish just over the bar.

However, Watts turned provider for the winner, which was scored by Junior. Rather than give a backpass or put the ball out of play, Goodliffe tried to head back a very low ball and only succeeded in heading it into the ground. Watts stole in to round Perez and chip back for Junior to slide in and score.

With Stevenage getting increasingly frustrated and increasingly niggly, the remainder was played out in virtual non-event style, even the ten minutes of added time not allowing Boro to create anything.
