After the debacle of Saturday at Morecambe, yet more changes were afoot for the Daggers. A rather hard-done by Vickers was dropped for Jackson and Lenny Piper replaced Janney with Bentley playing wide in his place. Tarkan was also dropped for Goodwin who impressed late on at Morecambe, but Shipp, Matthews and Bruce all continued after less than impressive performances on Saturday.

The Daggers didn't take long to adjust to their new-look line-up. A left hand side free kick beat everybody and Matthews' volley across the area fell to Bentley who managed to adjust his feet to divert it into the net from six yards. Soon after, Stein was well set up but scuffed at the shot as it went over from the edge of the box and Shipp's left foot effort was wide of the target. He was clearly just warming the foot up for greater things. At the other end, Cowe hit two long-rangers over and wide and a dangerous right wing cross was only just missed by Grayson.

Shipp made it two after 25 minutes. Braithwaite found him on the edge of the box and his touch seemed to have failed him, but he got his left foot round it to slide it past Perrin and in off the post. Bentley completed his second double of the season a few minutes later. Getting the ball on the right, he decided to just head for goal, powering past defenders before getting to the edge of the box and hammering the ball across Perrin, who's hand couldn't keep the ball out as it nestled in the net.

The warning signs were still there though as the visitors got through the midfield a little too easily on occasions, and they pulled one back at the end of the first half. Steve Cowe turned expertly and finished right in the corner with his left foot to give his side hope.

The second half seemed as if the Daggers had been taking sedatives in their half-time cup of tea. They were a completely different side as Forest Green started to make inroads and play a lot more of the game in the home half of the pitch. Grayson was causing problems and smashed a close range effort off the bar when he really should have scored and also crossed which everybody missed. They did get another goal back when Grayson this time found Cowe who rounded Roberts with the defence nowhere to be seen, and slotted home.

Bruce's cross saw Stein's header go well wide but Shipp popped up with his second of the game and 100th of all time for the club. He hammered it home from the edge of the box with his left foot from Meechan's pass, but sadly lacked celebratory t-shirt under his Daggers shirt.

With seconds remaining, Meechan put a slightly undeserved gloss on the result. He cut inside two defenders and produced a Stein-like finish across the keeper and into the far top corner.
