Paul was signed from Queens Park Rangers, who were his only permanent club in his career. He signed for QPR in 1996 after being a trainee at the club, and played over 40 games for the club in his 6 years there, although these were almost all in his last three seasons at the club, 16 of which were in his final season. Paul can play both on the left of midfield and also at left back. He has also spent 6 weeks on loan at Cambridge United at the end of 1998/99, playing 4 games. Paul was born in 1978, and came to the Daggers on trial after being released by QPR. After impressing in the pre-season programme, he put pen to paper early in August on a two year deal.
