Keith comes to the Daggers in the 19th move of his career and counts the Daggers as his 16th senior club. Born in 1967 and standing at 6ft 3in, Keith started his career at Hinckley Athletic. He then had a stint at Bedworth and then Leicester United after rejoining Hinckley. Finally, at the age of 22, he moved on a free to Lincoln City, his first professional club. There he got 2 goals in 16 games before Wycombe paid £30,000 for his services in the Conference under Martin O'Neill. After firing them into the League, Swindow paid out £300,000 for his signature. 51 Premiership and Division One appearances followed which brought 12 goals, and after two years he joined Stoke for the same fee. Just a year later, after 3 goals in 25 games, he again teamed up with Martin O'Neill, this time at Norwich City. Two goals in two games were not enough to get him a permanent first team place, and after O'Neill's departure, he was loaned to Bournemouth. The nest season yielded 5 goals in 14 starts as he was given another chance at Norwich, but he was again loaned out, to Watford and then Wycombe. Three goals and nine games later, John Gregory got his signature on a permanent basis for £55,000 in July 1997. Another six goals in 23 games across 18 months saw this time a £250,000 move to Reading. Towards the end of his spell with just 5 goals in 35 games, he was loaned to Colchester in 2000. Injury stopped a permanent move but upon his recovery, he was snapped up by Colchester on a short contract. After four games, he was released at the end of the season and was courted by the Daggers, Dover and Telford. In a struggling team, he still managed 14 goals before Dover were relegated and he moved to Scarborough which yielded 9 league goals. The last few months of the season saw him released to Leigh RMI with 3 goals in 11 games before joining the Daggers.
