Paul is a product of the club's reserve side and spent a very successful period there until earning a place in the first team squad. He was given his chance by Ted Hardy, and he has continued to be a big part of the first team ever since, progressing well under new manager Garry Hill. Works hard in midfield and attacks and defends well as a box-to-box midfield player. He was originally at Charlton Athletic, but after serving his apprenticeship at the London club, he was not offered a contract and dropped down to non-league. He is the brother of Chelsea's John Terry.
