November - Millwall Chairman,
Theo Paphitis has delivered a scathing attack
on the European Commission responsible for debating the current Football Transfer
proposals.
In an interview with club Programme and hot line Editor, Deano Standing, Theo
first commented on the various offers that have come in for players. He refused
to specify which players were concerned, but said, we have had "...several
decent offer on several players" and indicated that one or two were "very
tempting". However, he also said that some had been "Garbage".
All had been dismissed.
The Chairman then went on to give his views on the current state of play regarding
transfers and football. "They
must have taken all the fools in Europe, called them commissioners and dumped
them in Brussels!" he said, "they are a bunch of clowns", he
added. He also made further comments, indicating that the problem was that
none of them knew anything about football or how it worked, which is why they
were not only unable, but also unqualified to decide the issue.
Manager "Maggee" also confirmed that Sam Parkin had returned to Chelsea. "He wasn't playing in the first team, and that's what Chelsea want him to do, so he's gone back" he said. As luck would have it, Richard Sadlier is injured again, leaving just Neil Harris and Paul Moody available.
Millwall's first round tie against Leigh RMI now takes place on Sunday 19th November. Prices have been dropped, therefore members can get a discount of £5 when applying for tickets.
