Genealogy: My Family Main Index |
General Overview
Various families have been joined by marriage, or by unions with offspring. The
extent of the data means that the contents of this document will not be readily
absorbed. You will need to exercise patience.
Specified Names
A problem in tracing family history is the changes in the spelling of the
surname. The Bolch family went one better and changed their Christian names. It
is not rare for an individual to be born with Christian names that were changed
by the time of marriage, and again by the time of their death.
Wherever possible the Christian names quoted are those that the individual was
born with.
Widows and female divorcees remarrying can use their maiden name, or their
surname from the earlier marriage. Wherever possible the maiden name is used in
family history data.
Origins
It is not possible to say where a particular family came from originally, as
there was a dramatic migration from rural areas to the towns during the
Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions. It can only be said that a family or a
member of the family has been traced SO FAR as coming from a particular
locality.
