Commyssyon under the greate seale of England auctorishinge therby therte of
Warwik, Maister of the Common Ordynaunce and William Pelham, esquyer, lyuetenant
of her said Ordynaunce authorishing them and eyther of them therby and ther
deputie and deputies amongs other things to dig and breake ground in bearnes,
stables and other places convenient for salt peter within this realme, as well
in the late suppressed abbayes and howses of religion, olde castles, or ells
where, bothe within francheses and liberties and nowe redde; shall digge and
breake ground in all places within this citie and suburbs for the said salt
peter except onely in halls, parlours and shoppes; and also they to spare little
howses of poore men there. And further it is aggreed that the said commyssyon
and also the wrytyng of deputacon of the same shalbe registred in the Citie
register.
