Banger World Final - Wrecks

Another year another World Final at Wimbledon. Over 100 cars in attendance with 39 having gained qualification to the final. The other 60 or so cars competed in two last chance qualifiers which gave winners 732, Mark Bryant and 245, Jack France qualification to the final. As usual some of the paint jobs were brilliant even if the choice of machinery was fairly mundane.
The final was won by Willie Skoyles (41) at the 16th succesive attempt, the place men were Mark Smith (416) and Mark Welland (264). The first visitor home was Shane Brown (120) in 4th. Other finishing places shown with photos

Lots of wrecked machinery, however, some had gone home before we got out.

No apologies for showing Marcus Goldsmith's wreck of the meeting.	537, Martin Brunson	266, Ian Meaker sets out for a long journey home with his DS420 hearse.
John Dodge's battered A110	254, Richard Beere	No joy for Danny Hunt (382) this year.
Simon Byrne (172) with his damaged Austin 3 litre.	Alan Cartwright (54) made a real mess...	of his Vauxhall Viscount
213, Robert Clark	Mark Simmons (355) took a big hit over the back wheel.	Dale Hughes (27) managed to bend his XJ6.
Carl Sewell (467) got his Mk2 hearse a bit out of shape.	Mark Bryant (732) may have one a last chance qualifier, but that was as far as it went.	Graham Duell (320) took the prize for the highest car of the meeting.
