Big Van Bangers - Actions/Wrecks
41 'Vans' for the annual Xmas bash, though the term Van took on a new meaning with almost as many Mini Buses as vans with the stars of the show being the Buses of 141, Paul Korpiela and 828, Tim Dray. Other variations included a 'Fish & Chip' van from 884, Mark Harding , a very tender Ice cream van from Lawrence Squires (838) that was only allowed out in the DD and a couple of ambulances from 125, Vinnie Pearson and 77 Dutchy Holland.

Two heats a final and a DD provided the action. The heats were won by 206, Dave King and 670, Richard Flockton who went on to win the final from Tim Dray (828) and Robert Flockton (818). Roy Bramley (726) won the DD eventually.


387 takes an early exit into the fence thanks to Alan Hunt (528).

Sean Winchester (364) was on form all day, here forcing Ken Angle (265) into Tony Harper (702).

Barry Fuller (147) giving John Dodge (201) the turn.


Winchester (364) again despatching Carl Sewell (467).

and again getting airbourne after taking out Angle (265) again.

Keith Painter (46) pursues Mark Thomas (25) LHD Mini Bus.


Tim Dray (828) gets his Bus sideways on the back straight.

Dale Atkins (98) being chased down by Kev Camden (860).

Gary Cox (824) kept his wrecked Mk2 Tranny going at speed.


Richard Flockton (670) despatches John Bowen (888) on his way to the race win.

141, Paul Korpiela kept the bus running into the DD.

Another trashed mini bus for 106.

Vinnie Pearson (125) lost the whole body to his ambulance.


Lawrence Squires (838) went a stage further loosing the cab and body to the ice cream van.

A wrecked Mk3 Tranny for 231, Tony Broughton.

Tim Dray (828) kept the Bus going all the way to the end of the DD.

264, Mark Welland was well squashed.
