Recent Capsule Launches
A magnificent piece of cooperation. Pfizer Ltd (The famous pharmaceutical company) generously sponsored this magnificent Millennium sculpture by David Barnes (Sculpture and Potter) and a 225 Herald Time Capsule in conjunction with Sustrans (Sustainable Transport Project) on the side of their new bicycle track on the cliff top at Ramsgate, Kent. England.
The Cycle track provides a dedicated path from the English Channel to Inverness in Scotland. Local children with their own pictures, heritage projects, photographs and maps of Ramsgate today and in the past filled the Millennium 225 Herald Time Capsule. The Chairman of Thanet Council performed the ceremony of unveiling the sculpture and launching the Time Capsule watched by the Mayor and representatives of all the bodies involved. There was a great sense of occasion and joint achievement and everyone had fun. Both items give Ramsgate a wonderful legacy for the future. The imaginative project and organisation was the brainchild of Richard Harrow (Southern Arts Commissioner of Sustrans).

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Berkshire launched a 'Millennium 225 Herald' as part of a community project in December 1999 and are delighted. The Time Capsule was buried alongside a sculpture by Master Sculptor Philip Brews assisted by the children of Desborough Park, Maidenhead. This innovative project was organized by Kath Shackleton the Borough Art Officer and Richard Harrow S.E. Arts Coordinator of Sustrans. The Mayor and Councilors accompanied by a steel Band unveiled the statue and launched the Time Capsule at a much enjoyed launch party.  Children working on the Time Capsule contents & The statue of 'Flora' almost ready with her makers.
