If you do not intend to launch your until the end of the year, wouldn't it be interesting and fun to include pictures in your time capsule of your area at different seasons of the year and in different weather conditions?

Rather than just including papers and pictures in your Time Capsule why not try including some interesting small objects for the finders to discover. You can theme these and explain their use, for example everyday objects people often carry on their person; a comb, a pen knife, a handkerchief, money, a wallet, a hairgrip, a writing instrument, lipstick a piece of jewellery etc. Alternatively, you might include common items used for work, associated with a particular activity or in the home/school/workplace. These will all be of great interest to the people who open your capsule and add to their understanding of life today. But please, remember to remove any elements which might adversely affect other object in the capsule or the endanger micro environment e.g. Batteries from electrical items, ink from biros or pens etc.

Have you thought of including voice recordings in your Time Capsule? Why not record local people or people associated with the subject of your Time Capsule, Organisation, and Community etc. You might include the local Postman, Doctor, Vicars, Farmers and Old people to name a few. Ask them to talk about their work/life now and how things are and were in the past. Ask them for interesting stories and local folk-law or legends. Imagine your enthralment if you could hear someone talking about your area or organisation from way in the past and speaking in a contemporary accent. As the longevity of magnetic tape is uncertain you could consider storing your recordings digitally on a CD disc as an alternative and include a transcript on paper as well?

If your time capsule is associated with a particular place, property or garden why not include packets of seed or dried seed of the actual trees and plants, a plan of the garden and pictures? Include these and your Time Capsule will enable future generations to recreate your garden as it is now. Please make sure the seed is sufficiently dry to remain dormant and stable. Pack them in their own sealed container and include an extra silica sachet inside. Ask us if you need extra sachets.
