For some 20 years now I have been collecting a set of volumes published
by T.N Foulis picking up the odd volume here and there as I browse through the bookshops
of Scotland and England. Printed in the early part of this century they are fairly easy to
spot as most of them have a distinctive gold lettering on a buckram covering as you can
see below. On the back pages of many editions are advertisements for the others in a set
and from these I have extracted the details and descriptions of each. This has been a boon
in putting together the list of missing volumes. Though it is becoming more difficult
finding copies that I don't already have, the prices rarely go beyond 20 pounds - less in
Scotland. If you have a volume that I'm looking for then mail me.

The dry humour and whimsical sweetness of John
Galt's masterpiece need no description at this time of day-it is one of those books, full
