1) Email form Margo Crozier
John McDonald, Ann McKenzie's 1st son,married my
young widowed Great-Grandmother, Annie McKechnie (b.17.8.1865, Neilston,
Renfrewshire d.16.4.1921 at 133 West Carron) on 28.12.1891 in Carron. My
Grandmother, Elizabeth Silcock, was the eldest of 3 and after Annie married
John "the boy" McDonald, they went on to have a further six of a
family.
John McDonald was apparently a "leading
light" within the Dawson Mission, as it was, at that time at West Carron,
and much respected in the Community. I have heard some marvellous stories
about him.

Discovered your website recently. I`m a direct
descendant of John McKenzie & Catherine Bains` daughter Isabella born
1830, who married James Watson. I believe Isabella may have died before 1861
census, possibly even in 1854, the year they had a daughter Catherine Bain
Watson. Catherine went on to marry a William Russell (one of the heroes
of the 1890 Carron Dam drownings) in 1873 and died in 1907. William &
Catherine are my grtgrt grandparents and I am in contact with
descendants of 3 of their 10 children.
