Makes 20
175g (6oz) Self Raising Flour
Pich Salt
75g (3oz) Caster Sugar
50g (2oz) Ground Almonds
150g (5oz) Margarine
Few drops Almond Essence
Blanched Almonds
(1) Heat oven to 180C, 350F, Gas mark 4. Grease two baking trays.
(2) Mix together the dry ingredients, rub in the margarine.
(3) Add the essence and mix well, and bring together using your hands.
(4) Roll out thinly and cut into rounds. Place half a blanched almond on each.
(5) Place on a baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes.
