Makes 4

225g (8oz) Self raising flour
Pinch Salt
50g (2oz) Margarine
50g (2oz) caster sugar
1 Egg size 3, beaten with sufficient
milk to make 150ml (1/4pint) liquid.
8 Glace Cherries..

(1) Heat oven to 200C 400F Gas mark 6 and grease a baking tray

(2) Mix flour and salt, rub in fat

(3) Stir in sugar and milk and mix to a soft dough with the egg and milk, reserving a little for the tops.

(4) Knead lightly on a floured board and devide into 4

(5) Roll each piece into a round of about 1cm (1/2in) in thickness and place on the baking tray. Cut across the top to devide each into 4

(6) Brush with egg and milk and place half a cherry on each quarter. Bake for around 10 to 15 minutes.
