Hello!

Ultima Thule is moving! Keeping the shop going has become too much of an expensive burden for us. We'd been wanting to move for a while, as shop customers have become fewer. This is happening sooner than we expected, as the landlord gave us an offer we couldn't refuse. He's let us out of our lease at no cost, with the offer of very cheap office space in the same building. So, we are not moving far! We will be at 1C Conduit Street (3rd floor), that's just 3 doors down from where we are now.

Ultima Thule Mail Order should remain largely unaffected. Our phone and fax numbers will remain the same. However, due to the short notice of this move, we expect our phone and fax numbers to be out of use for a week. If this does happen you will still be able to contact us by email. Visitors will be welcome at the new office, which will be partly set-up like a shop, and we will attempt to keep to our current shop hours. Just press the intercom button for us to let you in. We hope you will all continue to support us and help us through this big upheaval.

Cheers - Alan.

List # 117 editorial, for those that may have missed it....

A time to celebrate, indeed - Ultima Thule is 20 years old! Who thought we'd make it? Well, the second decade hasn't been anywhere near as prosperous as the first. But we somehow manage to struggle on. With our own musical projects though we've flourished, and our prolific project Endgame is 10 years old on the 28 July, which just happens to be the date of our next Quadelectronic extravaganza! Making music is so much fun! If you haven't tried any of our music yet, and you have a taste for the adventurous, now's the time to do so, as the Endgame doubles are now at a much better price, and we've well-over a 100 other releases covering everything from cosmic synth, experimental guitar, via electroacoustic, freeform electronics through to Krautrock realms. Those into things like Nurse With Wound, could try our "irreverent tribute" project The Newt Hounds. Or, roll back 25 years with our old historical ZBB and Alto Stratus releases. Also, our CDR releases are under £7 each. And there's so much more, so - go on - challenge yourself!

Anyway, we keep managing to get new goods and sell them at better prices than almost everyone else, and we keep on turning up the rarities. We have lots of exclusives too! Note the restocks of Can CD's (more due soon) and Garden Of Delights label (sorry, some new releases are already sold-out, but we'll get them back later). The order of Spalax restocks hasn't arrived yet, but expect it soon. And more stuff (TBA) is on the way! So, keep on supporting us, else at this rate there will be nowhere to buy music from any more, and we don't want that do we?

Cheers - Alan.

List # 116 editorial, for those that may have missed it....

It's difficult to keep going these days, but we're trying to stick it out, despite a lot of prices going through the roof and diminishing returns. Of course we all need you to spend loads of money with us. But we know things are tight. We've got a year's lease left on the shop, so we're going to try and find somewhere cheaper to move to, possibly an office above a shop somewhere south of here (hopefully still close to the train station). Of course we'll keep you posted. Ultima Thule is 20 years old soon, and we started in a recession, so let's hope we can keep going.

After 15 years of keeping 1CD P&P in the UK at £1, it got to the point (including Jiffy packs & VAT) that we were losing money. And Royal Mail have put up prices yet again! So, note the new P&P rates here. Also, as I was saying about costs, we will continue to send out printed lists free to those that need them. But, as the list is also on our web-site, do you really need a printed one? If you do, but only order occasionally, please subscribe to our lists. Every little bit helps us.

Take note that, in order to simplify things, a lot of this page has been changed and truncated. Please take some time to read this. For more detailed information check the mail-order info page on our web site.

p.s. important notes...
Returns
: Note that due to the nature of Digipak and card CD covers (increasingly copies are being returned to us unsellable as new product) we have had to change the rules on returns of these on the "low risk scheme" and treat these the same as LP records. Remember, this scheme is not intended as a cheap library or rental service, so please bear this in mind, and if you do return things - please wrap and package them carefully!
New P&P rates: also include some changes to supplementary services, etc. If in doubt - enquire!
